Anything you have thought about (and many things you haven’t!), we discuss here. No prior experience is necessary. You can begin at any stage of your pregnancy and continue until your baby’s birth. These classes include yoga, breathwork and relaxation, and each class begins with a brief discussion. Topics are determined by the moms in each class and their specific issues, questions, and needs. Creating community and connecting with other new moms while getting back into shape is key for new moms. No prior experience is necessary. This is a great forum to get back into shape after the challenges of pregnancy and delivery. Taking time for you is essential for your physical and emotional healing. DANCING FOR BIRTH
Dance your way to a happier and healthier pregnancy, an easier birth, and a more content baby! Dancing for Birth is influenced by Belly dance, African dance, Latin dance and Carribean dance. It’s a feel-good workout that can be both challenging and relaxing. Dancing for Birth classes are a perfect prenatal and postnatal exercise, improving abdominal tone, control, and awareness, and strengthening hips and pelvic floor. These movements are natural and intuitive for pregnancy and childbirth, and can be useful for moving baby into a good position and relieving the discomforts of labor. Postpartum mamas are welcome, too. Come dance with baby in a wrap or sling (or solo, if you prefer), and get back in touch with those post-pregnancy muscles to dance your way back into a healthy shape, tone, and strength. These classes include yoga, meditation, relaxation, and pranayama. No prior experience is necessary. Classes include Sun Salutations and flow from one pose to the next. We build upon what we learn yet you can begin at anytime even if you are new to yoga! Poses can always be modified to suit your needs. Classes are tailored to the students in each class as well as the season of the year, so no two classes are exactly alike.
RESTORATIVE YOGA
These classes include poses done exclusively on the floor with the use of props for maximum comfort and relaxation. Feeling nurtured and cradled with blankets, blocks, and bolsters, the body can sink deeper into rest. Restorative Yoga is a perfect practice designed to restore balance and tranquility to your body, mind and spirit. Appropriate for beginners and experienced yogis alike, this practice is available to those who might not be able to participate in a regular yoga class due to physical weaknesses or limitations. It is a wonderful way to wind down your day.
THERAPEUTIC YOGA
Therapeutic Yoga is a blend of healing modalities – restorative yoga, gentle yoga, breathwork, guided meditation, and hands-on healing – which creates an experience of deep relaxation and rejuvenation. With the use of props, this practice offers unique ways to support the special needs of each individual which fosters a safe place for the process of healing to take place.
